However you found yourself here – social media, direct link, or pleading email from me – I’m glad you’re here. As the first of many blogs, pieces of content or otherwise streams of consciousness, I thought I’d give a quick overview of what you’ll find here.

But first, a little bit about me. I’ve been in the strategic communications and public relations industry for more than 15 glorious years. I graduated from the University of Florida with a degree and since then have been on a journey to find the next challenge and conquer it.

I started my career at a public relations firm in Tampa, Fla. representing clients like Feld Entertainment, Inc. (Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, Disney on Ice), dmg world media, Gaylord Palms Resort (Orlando) and others. Talk about a great introduction to the world of Public Relations!

After that, I spent a few years managing communications for the convention & visitors bureau for Hillsborough County, now known as Visit Tampa Bay, where I developed and executed communications campaigns for an NFL Super Bowl, a Republican National Convention, NCAA Championships, citywide conventions, and more.

Then, I spent the next few years at SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment where I ultimately served as the Director of Corporate Communications, responsible for corporate communications strategy, crisis communications, reputation and issues management, content creation, reputation and crisis advertising, and media relations.

Most recently, I put these skills to work for the Department of Defense as the Director of Communications for the 2019 Warrior Games, which were held in Tampa, Fla. About 300 athletes from 10 teams across the globe converged for 10 days of competition and unprecedented inspiration. Not only was it inspirational, but I had the opportunity to work alongside the likes of comedian and actor Jon Stewart and WWE Star and Athlete (and Gators Alum) Titus O’neil.

On a side note, if you haven’t had the chance to see these athletes in action, you owe it to yourself (and perhaps them as well) to check it out.

All of that has led me here – starting my own Strategic Communications practice. I have a passion for communicating, especially finding the right pieces to the communications puzzle and putting them together to achieve results. It’s that passion that has helped me lead teams that have consistently delivered positive results for organizations.

WHAT DO WE DO?

So, what does TC Strategic Communications do? I’m so glad you asked. We’ll get deeper into each of these in future posts, but we focus on Strategic Communications Planning, Content & Message Development, Digital & Social Strategy and Content, Traditional Public Relations, Crisis & Issues Communications, and Media Training & Coaching.

We have a secret “SAUCE” (you’ll have to stick around to see what that is) that will help you create a roadmap and strategic communications plan that represents your brand and mission and moves your audiences to action more quickly. We look for the story behind the story – the content that resonates with audiences and is compelling to readers.

First and foremost, we spend time with you and your team to understand your business goals, what’s been working, what needs to be adjusted, who your audiences are, what messaging resonates and what it will take to ensure you reach your 1-, 3- and 5-year goals. From there, we build an integrated plan that is tailored to your exact needs.

The process works – the roadmap is crucial – and it’s vital that you have one! But more on that later, or find more information on our services here: Communications & PR Services
