Still time for meaningful communications during coronavirusStill time for meaningful communications during coronavirus

We are all trying to evolve our businesses faster than this coronavirus crisis. Even if you didn’t have a crisis plan coming into this, it’s not too late to make a meaningful connection and communicate with your audiences.

In fact, there’s a bigger need for meaningful communications than ever before. The foundation for managing a crisis is built around effective communications.

Whether or not you were prepared for this, there’s still time to communicate in meaningful ways with your audiences. And if you do, you’re setting yourself up for success when we start to come out of this crisis.

We need to be very thoughtful about ALL our communications while we’re working through this crisis, but people are craving connections right now. Here are some tips to keep in mind:

It’s About Your Audiences.

Think about what they need, and how you can help give them the connections they’re looking for, and deliver them in a meaningful way.

Don’t Sell

Now is the time to create advocates in meaningful ways through building and fostering relationships. Don’t solicit needlessly and make sure you’re giving more than you’re asking for.

Listen!

Listen as well as communicate – the biggest part of communicating is listening to understand. Creating advocates means listening to them during a crisis.

And Finally, Be Active

Don’t just send out one email or post once on social media. Communicate in meaningful ways frequently and with intention. Be active in the discussion and show the human side of your brand.
